Early Life
Kevin Durant was born on September 29th, 1988. He was born and raised in Suitland, Maryland. He has three siblings, a sister Brianna and two brothers, Anthony and Rayvonne. His grandma, Barbara was a huge influence to him becoming a basketball player. She told him that his height was a gift even though he was teased for it in school.
HIGH School
Kevin attended Montrose Christian School for high school. He played basketball for National Christian Academy, Montrose Christian School, and Oak Hill Academy. After he finished his senior year in high school he was named in Parade Magazine's "First Team" list and USA Today's "First Team All-American" list.
College
Kevin Durant had offers from lots of top Division I colleges. His friend and fellow point guard Tywon Lawson tried to convince Durant to play at the University of North Carolina and playing for the Tar Heels. He ended up going to the University of Texas and playing for the Texans.
He started every game in his freshman year and averaged 25.8 points per game and 11 rebounds per game. He scored more than 20 points 30 times and more than 30 points 11 times. He was the first freshman to receive the Oscar Robertson award and the Adolph F. Rupp award. He was also named Big 12 Tournament's Most Valuable Player.
